Don't Be Distracted By The Good Things He Gives You

This is a good lesson I learn that I am reminded of all the time. It is easy to get distracted by the good things He has put in our lives such as ministries, spiritual gifts, etc.

While getting involved with different ministries I soon realized that my focus had switched from relationship to task. This is a big issue for most Christians, while many of us know better this switch seems to sneak up when we least expect it or I should say when we're more distracted.

Let us not go forth in striving but rather let us go forth in surrender.

It's funny how the enemy throws things our way to slow us down and we think if we just make this our focus and strive a little harder I will have a breakthrough. Later we find ourselves striving harder before the enemy adds another distraction.

It's also funny that nearly all accidents are caused by distractions when we drive. Sometimes the distractions that causes the accidents are a good thing such as a beautiful landscape but when we are focused on the road we can see the potholes & orange barrells ahead of time to avoid them, we don't miss the signs and directions we are given, we don't waste time by getting off the wrong exit...

Keep your heart on Him and make your personal quality time with Him a priority even before ministry. Even if it seems like your not going anywhere be patient, for He may be waiting for traffic to be clear ahead of you.

God bless you!
